The return of Del the Funky Homosapien

A LOT has been going on in Deltron's life as of late, and here's a little 14 minute update on his life, reasons for canceling tours, those closest to him, and some new flava (Deltron Event II + 2 mixtapes) for ya ears to come. Always good to see one of my favorite artists fight through the struggle that is life and come out on top. Mad props.

Beef: Resolved

Remember that time Aubrey got really angry at a tattoo artist and his comments because some girl got DRAKE tattooed on her forehead? And said he was gonna mess up the guy's world if he ever saw him? Yeah, you can't script this kind of stuff. Well, it seems as if Aubrey grew a pair like a real man, and a brain (At the same time. I know!), and resolved his issues with Mr. Campbell. And what better place to announce it to the world than on twitter:

Honestly, was anyone else concerned for Aubrey's life if it came to it? Without bodyguards, I wouldn't fight a tattoo artist with an avatar on twitter with him next to a skull. Would you?

Snoop Dogg's epic night

If you haven't already heard of the movie, Project X, do that first. Then get pumped for the rest of the videos VICE and the people behind Project X are making with other celebrities about some crazy ass parties.

Some of my best friends are geniuses

I've got two artists everyone needs to support, or check out at least. From my days at my local college's radio station, I became pretty tight with one of the most talented producers/dj's I've encountered. And that man is DJ Ceez. He's been on the move with music videos and putting out singles left and right. Here's his website and his latest single, One Time For Ya Mind (it's so old school smooth). His group, 21st Century Hip Hop is a force to be reckoned with. You can catch him on his new show Jack and Jill show.

My other friend, H.U.E. (Hope Uplifts Everything), is holding it down on the mic with Jar-E on their track, Home. The sound reminds me a lot of Shabazz Palaces, and that's definitely not a bad thing. Check out his other work along with Jar-E's other work. Jar-E has a gig now on Asheville FM, djing a weekly comedy show called "Race to the Bottom." As you listen to their respective music, here's a little something something from H.U.E.:

As an interdisciplinary artist uniquely rooted in hip hop culture, h.u.e utilizes music, performance, visual, and written disciplines to create compositions with a unified aesthetic.

MUSICAL ART
With 1940’s blues, 80’s reggae, and late 90’s spoken-word influences, h.u.e broadens the definition of hip-hop music. His self-described genre is titled “RURAL HIP-HOP BLUES” in part because many songs are recorded outdoors and tend to be sparse and reflective, while still fusing modern electronic drum machine programming. h.u.e began cultivating his musical style in 1997 at various open mic performances with friends and started recording solo songs in the summer of 2001. Full-length musical releases include: ‘Starfish Time’ (2005), ‘Sum Rays from the Sea Sun’ (2003), ‘The Hyper-Mellow Me’ (2002), and ‘Transitions and Transformations’ (2001). In collaboration with Asheville-based musician jar-e, the two artists record as Processions. The duo released a self-titled double-CD in 2001 and a 3-song EP ‘Coming Back’ in 2006. In 2007 they recorded a mix-tape ‘Charred Beef and Bittersweet Tea’ using samples from local producers. In 2008 and 2009 h.u.e contributed singles to jar-e’s solo albums. From 2001 – 2003, h.u.e also contributed poetry and music to the collective Spoken Resistance (Washington, DC) which was featured on NPR’s Tavis Smiley Show in 2002. In addition to working on a solo children's music project, h.u.e is currently collaborating with some incredible soundcloud producers: Andrea Fuga, North American, A Clean Shaven Me, Mr. Cleese, and SystemCodeSeven.

Get it? This post is a gift for your ears. Yeah, you got it.

YMCMB Looking for BIG Year

So with the success of Lil Wayne's TC4 (1.957 million), Drake's Take Care (1.35 million) and all the other YMCMB artists making a name for themselves, the Ca$h Money family is looking forward to a big 2012.

Head Honcho Birdman says Weezy, Nick (her album Roman Reloaded has already been pushed back from Valentines day to sometime in April) and himself will all be releasing albums this year.

Check out the full statements on everyone's album from Baby

From "Paper Planes" to "Bad Girls"

The same lady who made the hit single "Paper Planes" (most notably sampled on "Swagger Like Us" by T.I.) is dropping her new single on January 31st "Bad Girls"

Will have the track when it drops. Let us know what you think when it does

50 Cent vs. Birdman

I would say, "meh," to that beef but luckily the title of this post means that money may be exchanging hands because of the Super Bowl bet Birdman put out a few days back. Although 50 is only putting up $1 milli, it's still a bet. Let's see if the YMCMB godfather bites.

He's also getting busy making side bets with other lesser known people. The wager? A picture of his junk. Cool story bro.

Introducing: Greeny420

So I'm sure all of my 239487 regular followers have immediately noticed that the last post on Obie Trice's next project was authored by none other than one of my close friends who haven't graduated college. I'm sure this will work out as he is a fellow Knicks, Jets, Rangers, and Mets fan. Oh, and he's kind of a Hip Hop head like myself. Here's his bio:

DMX heatlh issues

DMX is back in the news, but no he isn't going back to jail again (thankfully). On his way to Charlotte, NC from Miami, Dark Man X became ill and was rushed to a hospital.

He got into a fight with some food poisoning from eating bad shrimp.

He was sent home after a few hours and will be just fine. He is currently working on his long awaited album

OHHH TRICE IS BACK

With his last release coming almost 6 years ago, Detroit rapper Obie Trice is releasing his latest installment "Bottoms Up" February 26th.

Cut n Paste Videos

One of my favorite labels, Chopped Herring Records, has been putting out music videos for their artists and some remixes of songs they did. Think of it as Girltalk taking up editing classes and having a field day. Here are a couple of my favorites:

HELL YES

Dave Chappelle. Chris Rock. On the same stage. Touring. Have you shouted in joy yet?

It's not definite but in the works. Apparently they've been talking about it for a while and the Watch the Throne tour has motivated Chris to really push for it.

Is it Beef?

The Big Day Out festival continues to catch my eye for distractions at work. Chris Cornell, of Soundgarden and Audioslave, gave his opinion of what Kanye West's music sounded like. Here's what he had to say:
"Sounds like there’s children playing music there. Retarded children, retarded as in held back. There’s no other word for it."
Ok, so Kanye showed up late to his set. Ok, so you're not into Hip-Hop. Ok, so you don't like any good music other than a few songs you made, which are debatable to be on par across genres with Kanye's music. But leave the mentally handicapped children out of it. I'm burning my Chris Cornell t-shirt that I don't have. And then pissing on it while playing this:

Remember the old MTV?

Good. Because Diddy is bringing that ish back! In spirit. Starting 12/12/12, Diddy plans on running a cable network, Revolt, that will air exclusively music videos and music news. It's hilarious how they're advertising it to have an "urban" feel to it aka Black. It's ok guys, you can call it a black channel. BET does it.

I'm just looking forward for an "urban" pop up video with Diddy, Ghostface Killah, and Playboy Tre giving commentary.

Mr. RAGER

Kid Cudi's alter ego, or rather, his own damn self, Mr. Rager, took over the stage in Australia after his set got cut short:

He had this to say on his tumblr. So anyone planning on booking this rock star anytime soon, DO NOT CUT HIS SET SHORT. Or be ready to pay out for new equipment, Guitar Hero style.

By the way, we have scored a temporary victory against SOPA and PIPA (on hold in legislative purgatory), but another bill, OPEN (Online Protection and Enforcement of Digital Trade) has been introduced to protect Americans from outside "threats." Get familiar. My take on all this? Free information for everyone will eventually be worth it in the long run. I'm sure you'll find a way to make a living. Although there is that possibility that everyone will become that much smarter to the point where your dream job is in danger of saturation. Like how all of those immigrants are taking all of our jobs...

It's raining in NY

... and Joe Cool's Cooley Hi mixtape is just the cure. With a lot of the tracks produced by himself, this mixtape predominantly chiller beats but has those bangers like MK Ultra and I need it all. So if it's raining where you're at now, sit back and play this mixtape from start to finish. You won't be disappointed.

For the bold

Anybody with guts and the cash to back it up might want to clap tweet back (probably not the proper terminology) at Birdman to take him up on him and his Pats. He did alright last year with a Milli on the Packers (sorry, Ryan), so be wary.
But not really.
